How to get app installs and sign-ups for an online service

Three ways: drive installs, get material for your own ads, or show the tool to the creator's audience. That decides the price and who you are looking for.

Get people to download the app

  • Access code, not a parcel
  • Link and code in the description
  • Barter too
  • Instead of a parcel you send an access code, so the creator starts filming the same day and you pay no shipping.

  • The link and promo code stay in the description, so you can see how many sign-ups came from that material.

  • You set the publication date in the task — the video appears on the day the app lands in the store.

Does advertising with influencers pay off for a mobile app

It pays off if the creator shows the app to people looking for a fix today. Three market figures, and what each one means for your budget.

  • 8–11x

return on advertising with small creators (2026)

The market average is 5.2x. On Blogger Bank they are the ones who answer tasks from tech companies most often.

  • 59%

of Poles look for services straight in social media (2025)

They see a new tool there before typing anything into a search engine. The creators publishing there apply to your task themselves.

  • 74%

of Poles believe what a creator says (2025)

For a subscription nobody can hold in their hand, that is the only proof outside the vendor's own website. Trial access instead of a fee is settled as barter.

Will influencer marketing work for a small tech company

It works wherever the product is visible on a screen and opening an account takes a minute. The most frequent clients are the companies behind mobile apps and subscription tools who need their first paying users. IT agencies, VPN brands, AI tools, hosting companies and finance apps work the same way.

  • Mobile app

    Mobile app

The viewer sees the screen in someone else's hands and installs while still watching.

  • Subscription tool

    Subscription tool

The client watches work happen on a live account and moves from free to paid.

  • IT agency and software house

  • VPN and antivirus brand

    VPN and antivirus brand

The viewer understands what the subscription protects against and stops postponing.

  • AI tool

The viewer watches a finished result appear in a minute and tries to repeat it.

  • Finance app

The user sees somebody open an account and walks the same path themselves.

What to settle before advertising an app with an influencer

Three things: what you pay with, what has to be visible on screen and how you will recognise the sign-ups.

Free access to the tool or a fee for the creator?

No budget

A year of access instead of payment

You hand over a licence rather than money and pay no commission. It costs you one account, but only people who genuinely need the tool will apply.

Fixed date

A fee for the material

You pay for the recording and set the publication date, so the material lands when it has to. You know the sum up front, and the risk of a weak result is yours.

Give access if the subscription costs you server time rather than cash. Pay a fee if the material has to land on launch day or run in your ads.

Write a task

A screen recording of the app or a slice-of-life scene?

Product visible

Bare screen and a voice-over

The viewer sees where to tap and what they get, so fewer people drop out while signing up. Without a face the recording gets lost more easily and travels less far.

Wider reach

A scene with a problem and a fix

The creator shows a snag from their own day, so the material also reaches someone who was not looking for a tool. Less of the product is visible in it.

Order a screen recording if people drop out while opening an account. Choose the scene if nobody has heard of your tool yet.

Order a video

A promo code or an affiliate link in the description?

Simple counting

A code at sign-up

The viewer enters the code while opening an account, so every user carries a source. The code then circulates online and some discounts reach people at random.

Whole path

An affiliate link in the description

The link leads straight to the app store and shows the whole path to an install. Anyone who clicks on a desktop and installs on a phone drops out of the count.

Give a code if the account is opened on your website and you want to count paying users. Go for the link if you are counting installs in an app store.

How to pick an influencer to advertise an app or online tool

Seven things worth checking in the applications before you sign a contract.

  1. Screen recordings in the portfolio

Material about an app stands on a legible screen. Watch their earlier work on a phone, not a monitor.

  2. Earlier work with online tools

Somebody who has already advertised a subscription knows when the viewer stops listening.

  3. Questions about price and limits under their videos

Under a good recording people ask about the subscription, account limits and the free tier. That weighs more than views.

  4. An audience that tests new tools itself

Viewers hunting for improvements behave differently from those who watch novelties for fun.

  5. The language the creator uses about technology

Anyone throwing acronyms around will only reach the industry. Your clients are rarely developers.

  6. Days spent getting to know the tool

Footage shot after a single login shows the start screen and nothing beyond it. Agree on a few days of testing.

  7. Agreement to show real data

Settle whether the creator will film their own account with real data. An empty demo shows from the first second.

Who applies to tasks for advertising an app

IT companies and app makers work with technology accounts of every size — from niche ones to profiles with broad reach. Five current examples from this category.

How to hire an influencer step by step

Step 1

Create a task in 5 minutes

Smart tips help you describe it so only the right creators apply.

Step 2

Receive applications and choose the best

Creators reach out to you directly. The first applications arrive in 8 hours on average. You choose on experience, reviews and work samples in the profile.

Step 3

The contract and all the work in one place

Hiring opens a contract automatically, carrying the terms from the task. Messages, files, stages and deadlines sit in the same place.

Step 4

Pay only for the finished result

The budget is frozen until your approval. You accept the result, and only then the payment goes out.

What footage convinces people to install an app and sign up

The strongest material is the one where the creator hits a problem from their own day and closes it with your tool: the viewer recognises themselves and installs on the spot. A first run removes the fear that setup will eat the whole evening. Lining your tool up against the one the viewer already pays for closes the choice.

A problem solved on screen

The creator shows a snag the viewer hit this week and the tool that closes it. This is the material people install after.

First run, step by step

From download to the first result, uncut. It removes the fear that setup will eat the whole evening.

Lined up against the tool the viewer already pays for

The same task in two apps, the same stopwatch. It closes the choice for someone already paying a rival's subscription.

One feature in a dozen seconds

One thing, one screen, one result. The cheapest way to reach people searching for exactly that.

A test after a month of use

Limits, outages and the subscription bill surface after weeks. It convinces people who have been burned once.

A how-to guide with the tool in the background

The viewer comes for instructions and leaves with your app. It reaches people who do not know the brand.

Bare phone-screen recording

Screen and voice-over, no face. It is shot in one evening and fits the listing in an app store.

UGC for ads

The creator films to order and hands over the file: website, ads, mailing. Nothing appears on their own profile.

What advertising an app with an influencer costs in Poland

  • PLN 300–1,500

is the market rate for a nano-influencer post

    With a micro-influencer, PLN 2,000–8,000.

  • 0 zł

is what barter costs instead of a fee

For an app or a subscription tool this is the usual first step, and a barter task carries no commission.

  • from 43 zł

is what the cheapest task costs

You set the terms, and the creators they suit apply themselves.

How to find a tech influencer in your city

An app runs anywhere, so distance rarely changes anything. It counts for an IT agency and for a service delivered at the client's place: you pin the task to a point on the map, and creators nearby see it where they are.

Common questions about working with influencers

How many installs does one influencer collaboration bring?

Rarely more than a few hundred, and it depends heavily on whether the viewer had the problem your app solves. Spread several videos across a month and count sign-ups from codes, not views.

Can I pay a creator per install instead of per video?

You can, but fewer people will apply: nobody films for weeks with no guaranteed payment. Put the commission terms in the task, and for a first collaboration pay for the material itself.

Is it worth advertising an app that is still in beta?

It is, as long as sign-up works and nobody bounces off an error at the start. For a beta order short videos from a few creators and keep the bigger budget for launch.

What if users uninstall the app after a week?

Pause further tasks and fix the first five minutes in the app: an influencer only speeds up what is happening anyway. Come back to collaborations once half of new accounts survive a week.

Can an influencer promise earnings from a finance app?

They cannot promise a specific profit — the advertiser answers for that claim, which means you, and you pay the fine. Hand the creator ready wording about risk and check the material before publication.

Will a creator outside IT sell a subscription tool?

They will, if they use it in their own work and show that on their own account — an accountant or a photographer speaks the client's language. Leave a technical creator for the harder features.

Hire a creator

Describe the task. Creators will apply on their own. You pay after you approve the material.
