Glossary/Brand ambassador
Who is a brand ambassador?
Short answer
A brand ambassador is a creator who represents one company for a longer time — usually several months or a year — and does not advertise its competitors during that period. Instead of a single post, the brand buys a constant presence: a series of material, a part in launches and the image of one specific person.
What exactly is an ambassador collaboration?
A contract for a series, not for a single piece. The creator appears with the brand regularly, so the audience stops reading it as a one-off ad and starts associating the two together. What you pay for is that association, and the exclusivity that takes part of the market away from the creator for as long as the contract runs.
What should you write into an ambassador contract?
The points whose absence most often ends this kind of work early:
The length of the contract and the number of pieces per month.
The scope of exclusivity — a whole category or named competitors.
The rights to use the image and the material after the contract ends.
The rules for parting ways if one side ends up in an image crisis.
When does this kind of collaboration pay off?
When the product is bought on trust and after some thought — supplements, equipment, financial services. A one-off post reminds people the brand exists, but it is repetition that builds the belief that someone really uses it. With impulse products that advantage usually does not cover the cost of exclusivity.

- Paid collaboration
- The creator is paid in money for producing and publishing the material. The terms — scope, deadline and amount — are settled before the start, not after delivery. Read more
- Exclusivity
- The creator's commitment not to promote competitors for an agreed period. It raises the rate, because it limits what they can earn elsewhere. Read more
- Barter
- Settlement in a product or a service instead of money: a dinner, a treatment, an order from the shop. For smaller companies it is often the first way into a collaboration. Read more
- Product seeding
- Sending a product to creators without ordering any particular publication. The brand counts on some of them showing the thing themselves, but has no guarantee and no deadline for it. Read more
Frequently asked questions
How long is an ambassador contract signed for?
Most often for three to twelve months. Shorter periods do not have time to build the association, longer ones are hard for both sides to price.
Can an ambassador advertise other brands?
Yes, as long as they are not competitors within the scope written into the contract. Exclusivity covers the category, not everything the creator does.
How much does an ambassador collaboration cost?
More than the sum of the individual posts — the exclusivity is in the price. The starting point is often the rate per piece multiplied by the number of months, plus a premium for blocking the category.
