Glossary/Product placement

What is product placement?

Short answer

Product placement means showing a brand inside ordinary content: the person uses the thing, but the material never stops to talk about it. It is still advertising and it still has to be labelled — the difference is that the message is woven into the action instead of delivered straight to camera.

What exactly is product placement?

Presence instead of a lecture. The camera does not zoom in on the logo; the product simply sits where it would sit in real life: coffee on the desk in a video about work, shoes on the feet in a video about running. The audience registers the brand as part of the world, not as a break in the content.

How is placement different from an ad inside the material?

By the place it takes in the story. An ad stops the content and talks about the product directly, with arguments and a call to action. Placement leaves the content whole and shows the product in the background or in use. The first sells faster, the second builds association and tires the audience less.

When does product placement make sense?

When the product naturally belongs to the creator’s world — gear with someone who uses it, food in a video about cooking. Forced in, it shows instantly and usually ends in comments about that rather than about the product. That is why it works better with creators whose everyday life overlaps with the category.

Already know what you need?

Describe the task: the format, the deadline and the amount or the barter. Creators from your industry will apply on their own, and you choose from the applications.

Frequently asked questions

Does product placement have to be labelled?

Yes. The absence of an open advertising message does not remove the duty — what counts is that the material was made for payment.

How many times should the product appear in the material?

As many times as the action calls for. Forcing a number of shots turns placement into an ad, only worse acted.

Is product placement the same as lokowanie produktu?

It is — lokowanie produktu is simply the Polish name for exactly the same thing.
