YouTube for Brands: Sponsored Integration, Dedicated Video or Shorts — How to Order and Pay

Short answer

YouTube gives a brand three main formats: a sponsored integration inside a creator's video, a dedicated video about the product and Shorts of up to three minutes. An integration gives context with a loyal audience, a dedicated video room for arguments, and Shorts a quick test and reach. In the brief, agree on placement, messages, approval, timing, retention and ad rights, and compare prices on the same scope.

YouTube for brands usually means choosing between three formats: a sponsored integration inside a creator's video, a dedicated video entirely about your product, and a short vertical Short. Each one is ordered and paid for differently, because each buys something different: a slice of a loyal audience's attention, a full story about the product, or quick reach in the vertical feed. Below we explain how the formats differ, what to put in the brief, how to agree on payment and how to check results.

Three formats and what you are actually buying

A sponsored integration is a segment of a video the creator would publish anyway: usually anything from several dozen seconds to a few minutes about your product, embedded in the creator's own topic. You buy context and the audience's trust in that channel. You have no say over the rest of the video, and its topic and timing follow the creator's plan.

A dedicated video is entirely about your product or the problem it solves: a review, a test, a tutorial, a comparison. You get more time for arguments, but the creator risks viewers treating the video as an ad, so they usually ask for more creative freedom and the work takes longer.

Shorts are vertical videos up to three minutes long. According to YouTube Help, since 15 October 2024 square or vertical videos up to three minutes are classified as Shorts. The format suits one product feature, a before-and-after or a quick test. A short video rarely carries a complex argument, but it is easier to prepare several versions.

How to match the format to the goal

  • A product that needs explaining (an app, electronics, a service): a dedicated video or a longer integration in a tutorial.
  • A known product you want to remind people of or show to a new audience: an integration in the creator's regular video.
  • A simple product with a visible effect, or a test with several creators at once: a series of Shorts.
  • Material for your own ads: any format, but only with separately agreed usage rights.

Many campaigns combine formats: a longer video builds the argument, and Shorts cut from the same footage support it in the short feed. General rules for matching format to goal are in our article on choosing a content format by campaign goal.

Before choosing a format, check which creators work in your category: the catalogue of influencers in Poland groups them by niche and city.

What to put in the brief

A YouTube video stays available long after publication, so a vague brief costs you for longer than with short-lived stories. Before you start, agree in writing on:

  • Format and placement: length of the segment, whether it sits at the start, middle or end, and whether a mention is enough or a product demo is needed.
  • Key messages: two or three things that must be said, plus forbidden claims such as health promises. Leave the rest to the creator's voice.
  • Link and description: a UTM-tagged link or discount code in the description, possibly a pinned comment. In Shorts the creator can add one link to the brand partner's site, as described in YouTube Help on brand links in Shorts.
  • Approval: whether you review the script, the final edit or both, how many revision rounds the price covers and how fast you respond.
  • Publication date and retention: when the video goes live and that it will not be deleted or hidden for an agreed period.
  • Usage rights: whether you may use the material on your channels or in ads, for how long and in which media.

How to pay for a YouTube collaboration

A fixed fee per publication is the most common model. The price is driven less by the format name than by the creator's work and risk: segment length, approval rounds, category exclusivity, ad rights and how long the video stays up. Compare offers on the same scope, not just on the word "integration". We do not quote rates here; they depend on the channel and niche.

Common payment models:

  • A fixed fee per publication, paid after approval and publication. The simplest for both sides.
  • A fixed fee plus commission on sales from a code or link. The creator shares the risk, but you need reliable tracking.
  • A package, for example an integration plus two Shorts from the same footage, priced together.
  • A separate line for ad rights if you want to promote the video with paid media.

A long video collects views for weeks, so a performance-linked contract should state after how many days you measure. Views alone are a poor criterion if the goal is sales.

Disclosing advertising on YouTube

YouTube requires the creator to tick the paid promotion box in the video details. The rules in YouTube Help on paid product placements cover videos, descriptions, live streams and Shorts, and viewers then see a paid promotion disclosure. Polish law applies on top of that: in its influencer marketing recommendations UOKiK states that advertisers are also responsible for clear labelling. Put this in the brief. This is not legal advice.

Results and ads with the creator's video

Video statistics live in the creator's YouTube Studio, so ask for analytics screenshots after an agreed period: views, watch time, audience retention at the integration and clicks. Measure sales with your own tools: UTM, codes, period comparisons. More on this in how to measure influencer campaign results.

If you want to promote a creator's video in Google Ads, YouTube offers brand partner access: the creator shares the video and its metrics with the brand, which can then use it in an ad. According to Google Ads Help, since June 2026 core YouTube Creator Partnerships features are available in all locations where the YouTube Partner Program is active. YouTube advises agreeing video usage rights with the creator separately. How to put that in a contract is covered in our piece on Partnership Ads and whitelisting.

How to order a YouTube video through Blogger Bank

On Blogger Bank you publish a task with the format, deadline and budget, and creators apply themselves. As of 21 August 2026 the database had 251 connected YouTube accounts, and you see connected profiles' statistics right on the application. You can describe an integration, a dedicated video or a Shorts package in the task from the start.

Payment is secured until you approve the material – this is secured payment. The commission is 5% on the brand side and 5% on the creator side. Create a brand account and publish your first task.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a sponsored integration and a dedicated YouTube video?

A sponsored integration is a segment of a video the creator publishes on their own topic, lasting from several dozen seconds to a few minutes. A dedicated video is entirely about the brand's product, for example a review, test or tutorial.

When should a brand choose YouTube Shorts?

Shorts work well for a simple product with a visible effect, a single feature to show or a test with several creators at once. They are vertical videos up to three minutes, so complex arguments suit a longer video better.

How long can a YouTube Short be?

According to YouTube Help, since 15 October 2024 square or vertical videos up to three minutes long are classified as Shorts. Longer vertical recordings are treated as regular videos and do not appear in the Shorts feed.

What should a brief for a YouTube video include?

Agree on the format and placement of the integration, two or three key messages, forbidden claims, a link or code in the description, approval rules and revision rounds, the publication date, how long the video stays up and ad usage rights.

How is a YouTube creator collaboration usually paid?

Most often the brand pays a fixed fee per publication after the video is approved and published. Other models include a fixed fee plus sales commission, a package of several formats and a separate fee for using the video in paid ads.

What drives the price of a YouTube integration?

The price reflects the creator's work and risk: integration length, approval rounds, category exclusivity, ad rights and how long the video stays online. Compare offers covering the same scope rather than judging only by the name of the format.

How do you disclose a paid collaboration on YouTube?

The creator ticks the paid promotion option in the video details, and YouTube shows viewers a disclosure. The rule also covers Shorts and live streams. In Poland, UOKiK states that advertisers are also responsible for clear advertising labels.

Can a brand use a creator's YouTube video in Google Ads?

Yes. If the creator shares the video through brand partner access, the brand can promote it in Google Ads and see its metrics. YouTube still advises agreeing video usage rights with the creator separately, ideally in writing.
